About Marshele Waddell

Marshele Carter Waddell is married to CDR (ret) Mark Waddell, USN, a U.S. Navy SEAL, who for seven years served as an enlisted sailor and since 1989, has served as a commissioned officer. They have three children, Joshua, Jordan, and Jenna. They currently live in Monument, Colorado.

Having left a career in journalism, marketing and public relations, Marshele's highest calling and passions have been her 22-year marriage, stay-at-home mothering of “J1, J2, and J3,” homemaking, and writing as together she and her family have served the U.S. around the world.

God has blessed her with a love for His Word and the enjoyment of communicating His heart through her pen and her life.

About Hope for the Home Front

Hope for the Home Front: Winning the Emotional and Spiritual Battles of the Military Wife explores the emotional and spiritual battlegrounds common in the experience of today's military wife. Hope for the Home Front speaks from the author's personal experiences and offers Scriptural encouragement to millions of others who bear similar burdens of fear, loneliness, anger, disappointment, temptation, frequent moves, single parenting, and separation from loved ones.

The demands on the United States Armed Forces and their families are again on the increase. Greater demands mean more frequent and lengthier separations for husbands and wives, exponentially more single parenting, and fears and worries rising off the charts. Hope for the Home Front ministers to those who are entrenched at home in the battle for their marriages, their children, their faith, and their sanity, which are all caught in the crossfire.

Nearly two decades of marriage to a U.S. Navy SEAL have brought Marshele Carter Waddell many trials and triumphs, celebrations and crises with which all military wives can relate. All have become achievements that qualify her to pen this particular book, each circumstance teaching her to trust our sovereign God more wholly.

Hope for the Home Front promises to reach servicemen's wives and family members worldwide who are fighting unique battles of their own at home. Most are facing these skirmishes alone and unarmed. Hope for the Home Front arms these women with the power and protection of God's promises against depression, bitterness, destructive choices, and desperation. The Truth, presented with humor and honesty, will make Hope for the Home Front a timely and timeless stronghold for its every reader. It will also serve as a resource for valuable insight and ministry ideas for everyone who loves or knows a military family.
